In 2021, Hobart City and Beachside football clubs joined forces to create a new club: Hobart City Beachside FC. The Club underwent a name change in 2023 to Hobart City F.C.
Our mission is to be a unique, inclusive and successful football club building from our strong foundations and rich heritage. We will invoke passion and inject a sense of family and community into football where the opportunity to represent and play is available to all.
Join us on this exciting journey.
PLAY FOR CITY
Juniors (U5 – U12)
Our Junior program introduces young players to football in a fun, inclusive and engaging environment. Through game-based activities, children develop fundamental skills, coordination and confidence while building friendships along the way.
We focus on enjoyment, participation and skill development at every level, ensuring each child feels supported and challenged appropriately. Games are played within the Central Region Junior roster, providing a positive first experience of team football.
Youth (U13 – U18)
Our Youth program builds on foundational skills, supporting players as they progress into more structured and competitive football.
Players develop technical ability alongside tactical awareness, decision-making and game understanding. Teams compete in formal competitions with finals and premiership outcomes, while coaching remains focused on individual growth, teamwork and long-term development.
Seniors (Championship and Championship 1)
Senior football at Hobart City FC provides a competitive and high-performance environment.
Competing in the Southern Championship competitions, our teams play a positive, attacking style of football underpinned by strong tactical discipline. Our coaching approach focuses on developing complete players, with structured programs that challenge individuals and strengthen team performance across all phases of the game.
Women and Girls
Our Women’s and Girls’ program aims to offer pathways for female players and is built on performance, progression and competitive opportunity.
From Junior teams through to Youth Girls and Women’s Championship squads, players are developed within a structured pathway that prioritises technical ability, tactical understanding and game intelligence. Teams participate in structured competitions that progressively introduce the expectations and demands of competitive football.
Coaching is aligned across all levels, ensuring players are challenged and prepared for the demands of competitive football. Players are supported within a strong team environment that values connection, confidence and accountability – enabling each individual to contribute to team success.
Socials
Hobart City FC provides social footballing opportunities. In 2026, our Social Men’s team offers a relaxed and enjoyable way to stay involved in the game. Competing in Southern Championship League 2, the program provides a balance of friendly competition and strong community connection. It’s ideal for players who enjoy the game and want to play in a supportive, social environment while still experiencing the structure of league football.
Academy
The Hobart City Academy provides an additional development pathway for players seeking to further their skills.
Designed for players from a young age, the program focuses on technical development, game understanding and individual progression. It supports aspiring players with structured training and clear pathways, while complementing club team commitments.
Our Approach
Across all programs, Hobart City FC is committed to creating an environment where players can grow, connect and thrive. We aim for development on and off the field – helping players build skills, confidence and a lifelong love of the game.
“When people succeed, it is because of hard work.”
